John Deere Stamp

According to Wikipedia (the all-knowing ocean of knowledge), John Deere was an American blacksmith and manufacturer who founded Deere & Company and invented the first commercially successful steel plow in 1837. His name is stamped on machines all over the world. In contrast to the shiny chrome of the motorcycle photo I posted yesterday, this piece of machinery is dull, rusted, and unexciting–but it has lasted the years, plowed many fields, and proudly displaces the name of quality.

Motorcycle Reflection

I attended a motorcycle show last night in New Albany, IN. Okay, really I went for the barbecue, but there were some really amazing bikes. Each was full of chrome and sleek lines. I took several shots of reflections in the curving chrome parts, each distorted the images in wonderful ways. Distortions sometimes help us see things in new ways.
